Everything you need to write about us.
Logos, screenshots, boilerplate, and a one-paragraph fact-sheet. Use it freely. We'd love to read what you write — drop us a line when it's out.
One-line description
Lexis Reader is a local-first, beautifully typeset reading app for the deeply read — books, papers, and your own marginalia, kept in plain text on your own machine.
One-paragraph boilerplate
Lexis Reader is a desktop reading application (with native iOS and Android apps coming soon) made by Lexis Press, a small independent studio. It is local-first by design: your library, annotations, and reading history live on your own machine, in plain text, in an open file format. Lexis offers fine-grained typography control, in-line dictionary and research tools, and a citation-aware annotation system that exports to a documented, public-domain format (.lex). It is pay-what-you-want, ships without analytics or tracking, and has been profitable since its first month.
Fact sheet
Logos & mark
Three forms: the wordmark, the spine ("L") mark, and the embossed seal. Available in dark, light, and a single-colour line version. Please don't recolour, stretch, or rotate them; please do put them anywhere you'd like.
"Lexis Reader" set in Lora italic. Use as the primary identifier in headlines.
The standalone mark. Use in app icons, favicons, small spaces.
All marks, all colours, plus a brand-guidelines PDF (eight pages, gentle).
Twelve high-resolution captures: hero, library, research, margin notes, .lex export.
House quotes
If you need a single line from us, any of these are pre-cleared:
- "A book is a place, not a feed."
- "Your margins are yours, in plain text, forever."
- "We did not invent our own cloud. The file system is doing fine."
- "There is no streak. There is no leaderboard. The pace of a book is set by the book."
